Remmus

I once was told that if we are lucky enough, we'll get 80 summers. If you view this journey that way, it puts things into perspective.  From the moment you enter this experience..the summers begin. You may be born in a different season but the counter starts nonetheless. The early years are all about development. Then you learn to partake in society usually through attending school. Soon you're onto adolescence and trying to find out who you are. Just that fast youve went through 18 of the 80 summers you were sold on your arrival. Those 18 summers were used mostly on development and growth, with the help of a guardian you have survived up to this point.  Summers 19 through 30 are also crucial but these are often a blur because the person is so preoccupied. There's academic studies, some become parents, some jump into the workforce...  The summers seem to come faster now. You have approximately 50 summers left but the journey gets more rough the older you get. These ...

Four Letters that Need Not a Stamp

Sending out communications is a simple action. Rather that be nonverbal, verbal, written or some sort of meme. The thought of not being able to communicate seems like something out of the Twilight Zone,  a swirling display of mental calamity of not being able to express one's self.  So why is it so hard for some of us to convey a very simple feeling? One that sadly most say they've never experienced. One that if not reciprocated can leave a being distraught.  It's given to most of us before we even enter this world, yet along the journey of life we lose it so often.  How can something that's not tangible be so valuable? Valuable enough to rival time itself. We can only wish that all of mankind could be privileged to not only receive these letters but pass them along as well.  No postage needed for these 4 letters  L o v e.

Microwaveable

The thought of waiting more than 30 seconds for anything nowadays seems to drive the modern human insane. People want think instantly and if you can't produce it they'll nag helplessly as if it can be conjured up from nothing.  What's the cause of this? Is it the portable computers that are carried around? The on demand services? Maybe it's the "fast food". Humans are extremely impatient now and it doesn't seem to be an end coming soon.  The world revolves just like that glass plate in a microwave and we the people staring at it through the window waiting anxiously for the next "ding".

That Piece of Plastic in Your Pocket

Most of us by the age of 18 have a piece of plastic we carry on us. Its not made by a contraceptive company, but by financial corporations. This piece of plastic is the cause of hardships for millions of individuals. We are taught, urged and conditioned to believe we need one..or two...or three of these pieces of plastic. At an astounding 3.375 in x 2.125 in it has the ability to destroy homes, reputations, and lives. By now you probably have a clue to what i am referring to, yup... its the credit card.      I received my first credit card at 19 out of curiosity. You know just to see what it would be like. My parents had always advised me to not get one.. I now see why. I luckily dont have any CC debt but millions of Americans do. The main issue isn't necessarily the card itself, but the hidden fees and insane interest rates. it may not seem like much but 18% is a lot and adds up fast if you dont pay off your balance. Thats the trick. Co...
